Job Description

Hybrid role available! Growing P&C insurance organization is seeking a Statutory Accountant to join its finance team (hybrid schedule, 3 days in office). This role is ideal for an accounting professional with 3-5+ years of Statutory Accounting experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry. Responsibilities include preparing NAIC and state regulatory filings, annual statements and supplements, statutory journal entries, and supporting regulatory reporting requirements. The position offers significant exposure across finance and operations, partnering with business leaders to ensure accurate reporting and process improvement initiatives. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, strong knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and advanced Excel skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparing NAIC and state regulatory filings, annual statements and supplements, statutory journal entries, and supporting regulatory reporting requirements
  • Partnering with business leaders to ensure accurate reporting and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of Statutory Accounting experience within the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), annual statements, and regulatory reporting
  • Experience preparing NAIC and state insurance filings and statutory journal entries
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Nice to have

Experience with any variety of Workday, Cognos, Alteryx, OneStream, or similar reporting tools is a plus
