Job Description:

Operates and maintains one or more systems which provide an establishment with such services as heat, air-conditioning (cool, humidify, dehumidify, filter, and circulate air) refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water or electricity.

Job Responsibility:

  • Observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system’s operation
  • Set and maintain mechanical equipment controls per UFC and DoD guidance for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems in accordance with applicable directives, instructions, manuals, and engineering technical orders
  • Adjusts controls to insure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided
  • Records in logs various aspects of the system’s operation
  • Keeps the engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order
  • May direct and coordinate activities of other workers in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a stationary engineer or related field
  • Ability to perform work safely under hazardous conditions
  • Able to trouble shoot and repair most complex problems
  • Knowledge of computer software programs to include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High School Graduate, technical or trade school certificate in related field desired
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions
  • Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire
