Stationary Engineer position at Palace Hotel a Luxury Collection Hotel San Francisco. Respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive and complex maintenance, ensure safety and security compliance, and provide guest service.
Job Responsibility:
Respond and attend to guest repair requests
Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
Carry equipment
Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment
Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts
Read standard blue prints and electrical schematics
Perform highly complex repairs of physical property, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment
Troubleshoot and perform repairs on all types of equipment
Use the Lockout/Tagout system
Use engineering computer programs
Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems
Train and mentor other engineers
Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
Complete safety training and certifications
Properly store flammable materials
Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional
Maintain confidentiality
Protect company assets
Welcome and acknowledge all guests
Anticipate and address guests’ service needs
Assist individuals with disabilities
Adhere to quality expectations and standards
Develop and maintain positive working relationships
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds

Requirements:
Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background
Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration, parts inventory and requisition, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience
