Join us as a Station Guide at Sizewell B Power Station, where you'll be the face and voice of our station. Delivering engaging presentations and site tours to diverse groups. This role offers flexible part time hours and the chance to educate and inspire school and college groups, the public and business visitors.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging presentations and site tours to diverse groups
  • Be the ambassador of Sizewell B Power Station
  • Ensure safety and well-being of visitors throughout their visit
  • Represent station at external events
  • Support educational groups through centre activities and station tours
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with Visitor Centre Co-ordinator and team to promote and manage EDF's reputation in local community

Requirements

  • Interest in Science and Engineering
  • Flexible with days worked each week
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic
  • Willing to learn about nuclear energy
  • IT literate with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • UK Driving license
  • Experience working with young people is an advantage
  • Must meet criteria for Security Vetting (resident in UK for at least 3 of last 5 years)

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field required
  • 25+ years of experience in solid waste engineering, with demonstrated expertise in leading and delivering complex projects. Experience includes landfill permitting, design, construction documentation, construction quality assurance, landfill gas collection and control systems, closure and expansion projects, stormwater management, leachate and condensate systems, transfer stations, and post-closure renewable energy developments. Further, a successful candidate will need a strong record of managing multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating with regulators and clients, and preparing permit-ready and construction-level documents for public and private solid waste facilities
