Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Static Electrician to join our facilities management team, based permanently at a large commercial property in Fareham. In this role, you will be the on-site expert for all electrical maintenance, responsible for ensuring the building's electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician who enjoys working in a stable, professional environment and taking ownership of their work.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all electrical systems, including lighting, power, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems
  • Responding promptly to reactive maintenance and electrical faults, diagnosing issues, and carrying out effective repairs
  • Performing minor electrical installations and project work as required
  • Carrying out fixed wire testing and inspections (if qualified), and completing necessary remedial works
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with current health and safety standards and BS 7671 (18th Edition) regulations
  • Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance tasks, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Working collaboratively with the wider on-site maintenance team to ensure a seamless service delivery

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified electrician (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365, or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671) certification
  • Proven experience working in a commercial or building services maintenance environment
  • A strong understanding of PPM schedules and reactive maintenance
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • A professional attitude with good communication skills

Nice to have:

  • City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) for Inspection & Testing
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS)
  • A valid ECS card
