Job Description

We are hiring a Freelance Ad Review Specialist to join a top entertainment company in NYC.

Review advertising at all stages of development for truthfulness, accuracy, and appropriateness
Identify express and implied claims and evaluate supporting documentation such as studies, product testing, and market research
Apply and interpret advertising policies during the creative review and clearance process
Assess matters of taste and appropriateness based on community standards and current events
Maintain complete and organized records of all communications, claim support, and documentation
Manage large volumes of advertising content and multiple concurrent reviews
Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve creative and compliance issues
Spot potential risks and maintain organized advertising histories

Bachelor’s degree required, JD or advanced degree in marketing, science, research, or communications ideal
1+ years of experience in a role demonstrating strong analytical thinking, writing skills, and attention to detail
Working knowledge or familiarity with advertising and marketing laws and regulations (FTC, FCC, FDA) preferred
Experience with clinical analysis, product testing, market research, or statistical analysis preferred
Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, consumer goods, politics, or gaming preferred
Experience in advertising standards, broadcast standards, or production environments a plus
Strong research and library skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to maintain thorough records
Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively
Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
Strong interest in Advertising Standards & Practices and willingness to dive into high-volume claim review
