Job Responsibility:
Strategic Engagement Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive stakeholder engagement plans for major projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and government policy
Political & Ministerial Liaison: Manage high-interest projects with frequent ministerial reporting requirements. Draft high-quality briefing notes, ministerial correspondence, and project updates
Community Consultation: Lead face-to-face and digital consultation sessions with local communities and industry operators to mitigate project risks and build social license
Risk Management: Identify emerging issues and reputational risks early. Develop mitigation strategies to handle "medium-risk" project sensitivities, particularly around environmental and access concerns
IAP2 Implementation: Apply the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation to determine the appropriate level of engagement for various project phases, ensuring transparency and accountability
Requirements:
Proven Experience: A background in stakeholder engagement, communications, or corporate affairs, ideally within a Government and infrastructure space
Exceptional Writing: The ability to distill complex technical data into clear, concise Ministerial briefings and community newsletters
Conflict Resolution: Experience facilitating difficult conversations and managing expectations with diverse community groups
Strategic Thinking: A solid understanding of the IAP2 framework and how to apply it to achieve measurable project outcomes
Adaptability: The "soft skills" to move seamlessly from a boardroom presentation to a face-to-face meeting on-site
