With a significant infrastructure development programme underway, our internal and external stakeholders are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a Stakeholder Manager with the ability to act as a business partner providing strategic tools and support to our Infrastructure and Operations business units. You’ll be partnering with our teams in the successful delivery of stakeholder activities for highly complex programmes of work. Your work will also help protect and enhance Auckland Airport’s reputation through strategic planning and risk mitigation.
Job Responsibility:
Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and plans for Auckland Airport’s infrastructure projects and programmes, partnering with internal teams on their delivery and working closely with the Corporate Communications team to ensure consistent, holistic messaging
Take a forward-looking, strategic approach to engagement, mapping key milestones and ensuring alignment across the full programme or project lifecycle
Partner and collaborate with internal teams to deliver meaningful engagement with partners and stakeholders, sharing the vision and progress of the programme and addressing risks and issues effectively
Provide strategic advice and guidance to project teams and senior stakeholders on how to best engage with key partners
Ensure timely, consistent, and confident delivery of communications that align with both project needs and overarching corporate messaging
Proactively manage reputational risk and support communications and engagement during issues or crisis events
Champion best practice in stakeholder engagement across the organisation, supporting teams to build strong relationships, close the loop with stakeholders, and manage engagement end-to-end
Act as a role model for Auckland Airport’s “People First” approach to health, safety, and wellbeing
Requirements:
5+ years of proven experience in stakeholder management, project management in large scale or infrastructure projects
Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, project management or equivalent experience
Excellent leadership skills including the ability to influence change and implement it in a positive way
Experience at developing and implementing a strategic partnering approach to stakeholder management
Proven experience in stakeholder management, ideally within large-scale construction projects in complex environments such as airports or other transportation services
Sound knowledge of communications and engagement tools, techniques and channels
High level of accuracy with a people first and values-based approach
