Job Responsibility
Planning, preparing and presenting engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with the Early Learning curriculum
Creating a nurturing, structured and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active, play-based and inquiry-driven learning
Supporting the academic, social, emotional and physical development of each child
Establishing clear routines and expectations that foster independence, confidence and positive behaviour
Assessing, observing and documenting children’s progress, including informal and formal assessments where appropriate
Writing meaningful and constructive report comments
Reflecting on, evaluating and continually refining teaching practice
Demonstrating a commitment to ongoing personal and school-wide professional development
Producing high-quality learning resources and maintaining an organised, engaging classroom environment
Communicating professionally and timeously with parents, responding to emails and telephone messages within 24 hours
Behaving in a professional manner with regard to punctuality, conduct and standards of work
Collaborating effectively with Teaching Assistants and colleagues
Attending school events, meetings and special occasions at the discretion of the School Head
Demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the ethos and values of Reddam House
Undertaking any other reasonable tasks as determined by the School Head or line manager
Requirements
Recognised Early Years teaching qualification
Experience working with children aged 2–5 in an Early Years or nursery setting
Understanding of child development and early years pedagogy, including knowledge of EYFS, Reggio Emilia, or equivalent frameworks
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
Strong classroom management, organisation, and planning skills with a focus on high-quality learning outcomes
A passionate, child-centred approach with the ability to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning
A reflective and adaptable mindset, committed to continuous improvement and professional growth
