We’re looking for a Staff UX Designer to help us develop our Lime for Business Product from the ground up. As our first UX leader in this product space, you will play a critical role defining the vision for our Lime for Business Product suite, with a focus on employee-facing features in the Lime Rider mobile app. As a Staff designer, you’ll operate as a design leader and multiplier—setting direction, raising quality, and guiding teams through complex, ambiguous problems.
Job Responsibility:
Design intuitive, end-to-end mobile experiences for business users that support complex business rules and workflows, translating employer policies, eligibility, and usage constraints into clear, rider-friendly interactions
Define and evolve the multi-platform vision for Lime for Business, with a primary focus on employee and rider-facing experiences in the Rider mobile app across key use cases such as commute, business travel, and campus mobility
Lead full-cycle user centered design, from discovery and concepting through wireframes, high-fidelity designs, prototyping, and final specs—grounded in user research, business objectives, and technical constraints
Partner closely with Product, Engineering and Customer Success Managers to deliver and iterate on cohesive, high-quality mobile experiences that integrate seamlessly with Lime’s existing Rider app architecture, design systems, and performance requirements
Collaborate with Operations and Hardware partners to ensure mobile designs align with real-world rider behaviors, fleet availability, and on-the-ground realities
Contribute to and extend Lime’s mobile design systems and UX frameworks, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and quality across employee-facing surfaces
Influence product strategy through strong design storytelling, clearly articulating user problems, design rationale, trade-offs, and success metrics to cross-functional partners and leadership
Help strengthen Lime’s design culture by mentoring peers, advocating for rider-centric decision-making, and raising the bar for mobile UX as Lime for Business scales
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in crafting, building and shipping quality consumer-facing products across a diverse group of platforms and form factors
Expertise in mobile app design & development, preferred expertise in transportation, working with hardware partners
Strong proficiency designing across web and multi-platform ecosystems
An ability to own and drive the strategy and execution of entire end-to-end product solutions
A process that grounds work in user research and considers the context of the user’s experience
Meticulous and detail-oriented with an ability to execute at a high level of aesthetic craft
Experience working in a very dynamic environment
Highly proficient with Figma and iterating quickly as the ideas evolve
Experience participating in both foundational and evaluative research
Nice to have:
Entrepreneurial spirit, comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy
Experience designing 0–1 products or founding design efforts within a new product area or business line
Background in transportation, operations, logistics, or marketplace product ecosystems, or in environments that integrate with hardware or IoT devices
Experience shaping or leading design systems
Experience designing internal tools for operators, customer success, or field teams, including workflow optimization and service design
Comfortable leading or partnering closely with UX Research across both formative and evaluative research cycles
Ability to drive product strategy in addition to execution—framing the problem space, defining end-to-end solutions, and influencing product, engineering, and business stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior IC who can grow into a leadership role as the team expands
Passion for sustainability, safe mobility, and redefining how people move in cities, with empathy for diverse user groups (riders, employers, operators)
