Job Description

The Tax Analyst will be involved in all areas of tax including compliance, acquisitions, audits and provision. This position will have an active role in supporting our outsourced tax compliance and provision process including conducting necessary data extraction, manipulation and analysis to support the preparation of Aveanna's tax returns and financial reports.

Job Responsibility

  • Compile and analyze data to create workpapers to support tax filings, including book to tax adjustments and state and local apportionment
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations and tax related SEC reporting disclosures
  • Assist with review/preparation of the federal consolidated income tax return and unitary & separate state income tax returns, including estimated tax payments, extensions, and miscellaneous filings
  • Research/monitor income tax laws
  • Interface with other functions within the organization to provide business support and ensure efficient Tax Policy Administration
  • Prepare and review sales and use tax returns (limited number as most of our revenue is exempt)
  • Review and resolution of state tax notices
  • Assist with any federal or state audits
  • Assist with tax planning projects including potential acquisitions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA preferred or at least working toward certification
  • 1.5 - 4 years of relevant experience in public accounting or a tax department required
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines while producing quality work
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • General knowledge of corporate income and franchise tax as well as accounting principles
