Job Description

As a Solutions Architect within the Solutions Engineering team, you will work closely with our commercial leaders, regional GMs, CTO, Product leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape winning technical strategies for our most strategic enterprise clients. You will lead the full pre-sales discovery process, translate complex requirements into scalable architectural designs, and guide customers in unlocking the full value of Airwallex’s technology. This role places a strong emphasis on technical solutioning, executive engagement, and GTM enablement while maintaining hands-on, engineering-level involvement where needed to drive customer success. Beyond architecture and advisory, you will also take ownership of the end-to-end integration journey for high-impact strategic accounts, ensuring that the solutions you design are implemented correctly, on time, and in alignment with best practices. Working closely with Product and Engineering, you will support customers through their technical onboarding, troubleshoot complex API interactions, and ensure seamless integration outcomes. You will serve as the trusted technical partner across the entire sales and delivery lifecycle, leading discovery, designing compliant and scalable payment solutions, delivering compelling product demonstrations, and advising on architectural and operational decisions. Your expertise in multi-system API integrations and payments technology will be instrumental in shaping our technical narratives and delivering world-class customer experiences. As part of a rapidly expanding global team, you will contribute to the evolution of our solution frameworks and be pivotal in driving successful implementations and go-lives for enterprise customers.

Job Responsibility

  • Drive thought leadership and build executive relationships with key business and technical stakeholders
  • Develop white paper / competitor studies / support “how to win” strategy development with the enterprise commercial, strategy, and marketing teams
  • Own pre-sales activities for strategic customers from technical perspectives, owning RFP process and develop proof of concepts
  • Work with account executives to design solutions that solve critical business challenges for our clients, throughout the pre-sales, solution design, and implementation processes
  • Act as the voice of the customer to inform our product team on insights, product gaps, and opportunities across the markets
  • Oversee end-to-end implementation delivery for strategic accounts, identifying and troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring client’s integration follow the best practice guidelines to create best developer experience
  • Approximately 10% travel is anticipated, especially for in-person meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, with strong academic achievements
  • At least 10 years of experience working in a similar customer-facing engineering role such as solution consultant, solutions architect, sales engineer, for a global software enterprise or payments company
  • Executive engagement skills and presence, with an ability to establish strong relationships with key decision makers and build credibility at all levels
  • Strong organizational/time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities while working with multiple opportunities and customers
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, comfortable working with customers, partners, and the Airwallex Engineering team to develop new products and solutions
  • Understand at least one of the major programming languages (PHP, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, etc.)
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs into web applications
