Staff Software Engineer

• Raise the bar through technical expertise, collaboration, and example
• Help multiple engineers and teams succeed
• Involved in key product decisions including prioritising product roadmap, defining project scopes, and influencing technical direction
• Contribute technical context to discussions around product strategy, user experience, and feasibility
• End-to-end ownership of complex, high-impact projects or systems
• Deploy small, incremental changes to production multiple times per day
• Help scale product, architecture and processes efficiently while maintaining performance and reliability
• Work autonomously on projects while collaborating with team
• Engage with customers, understand their experience, and iterate products based on their input

• 8-10+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience building web apps and designing/implementing features from start to finish (full-stack, using Typescript and ideally AWS)
• Experience spearheading engineering of critical systems with best-in-class tooling in AWS, IaaC, observability and quality assessments
• Understanding of building highly reliable & well architected products with quality, observability & redundancy
• Comfortable moving across the stack
• Problem solving and thinking from first principles
• Willingness to pick up new skills and build quickly
• Craves ownership and gravitates towards meatier engineering projects
• Team player who helps maximize team performance
• Comfortable tackling ambiguous problems without predefined solutions
• Prepared to undertake pair-programming interview stage in Javascript or Typescript
