Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled QA/Automation Engineer to join our team to validate and automate testing for Mist Systems' Network Access Control (NAC) product.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for Mist NAC components including policy enforcement, device onboarding, posture checks, MDM integration, and more
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Developers to understand features and derive comprehensive test plans
  • Validate integrations with Mist Dashboard, Juniper switches, access points, and external identity services (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, RADIUS)
  • Automate end-to-end workflows using Python, REST APIs, and automation frameworks
  • Simulate real-world network conditions using virtual labs or physical testbeds
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for test execution
  • Perform regression, performance, scalability, and security testing for the NAC product
  • Analyze logs, debug issues, and file detailed bug reports
  • Engage actively in debugging live production customer issues and providing a solution

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in QA or Automation engineering, preferably in networking or security products
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, RADIUS, 802.1X, NAC concepts)
  • Hands-on experience with automating REST APIs, preferably using Python and related frameworks
  • Experience testing cloud-native platforms and microservices
  • Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, Postman, Jenkins, Docker, and Git
  • Strong debugging skills and ability to troubleshoot across network layers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with Mist Systems, Juniper products, or other enterprise network access control solutions (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, FortiNAC)
  • Experience with SAML/OAuth2, Identity Providers (Azure AD, Okta)
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust, segmentation, and endpoint posture checks
  • Knowledge of test case management and reporting tools (TestRail, etc)

  • Act as the lead architect for our test automation strategy
  • Instrument the system by defining, implementing, and owning the core quality metrics (e.g., Defect Escape Rate, Change Fail Percentage, CI Pass Rate)
  • Build the dashboards that make these quality metrics visible to everyone
  • Ensure quality is built-in, not bolted-on, by applying SOLID/DDD principles to all architectural and design reviews
  • Create reusable templates and training materials
  • Triage the domain's quality risks and focus your efforts on the highest-leverage initiatives
  • Prioritise the next wins, embed with teams and build/prove new solutions, processes and tools
  • Ensure compounding interests by building playbooks and best practices, and advocating together with engineering managers on them
