Addepar is hiring a Staff Software Engineer who will bring to bear their deep technical expertise, architectural leadership, and strategic vision to create enterprise-grade solutions for our Financial Data Lakehouse, AI, and Data Governance initiatives.

Job Responsibility

  • Work in partnership with global product managers, executives, and cross-functional technical partners to define the long-term roadmap and architect solutions for the most complex technology and workflow problems
  • Drive the technical vision for Addepar’s Data Lakehouse, ensuring it serves as a scalable, central financial data hub through robust integrations and future-proof architectural standards
  • Master cross-coast collaboration, effectively bridging technical execution and communication between distributed offices and time zones to ensure global project alignment
  • Act as a force multiplier for engineering teams by providing high-level technical guidance, mentoring senior engineers, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and rigorous design
  • Lead the architectural evolution of our data platform by staying hands-on in system design and critical code development, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security across the stack

Requirements

  • Extensive relevant work experience in data platform development, with a proven track record of designing distributed systems and complex data engineering ecosystems using Python
  • A high-leverage technical leader with a low-ego, collaborative approach
  • capable of navigating organizational ambiguity and solving problems that impact multiple product lines
  • A dedicated mentor with a passion for coaching junior talent
  • Expert in steering engineering strategy through agile practices
  • Deeply experienced in cloud-native architecture, service-oriented design, and automated infrastructure at a global scale
  • Expert-level understanding of PySpark and Databricks (or equivalent large-scale data processing frameworks)
