As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll shape our crypto architecture and lead technical strategy, implementation, and innovation. This is a high-impact role where you’ll drive reliability, scalability, and security across systems and help us deliver industry-leading products to our customers.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead technical architecture and system design for Robinhood’s crypto trading platform
  • Partner with product to shape the roadmap and long-term vision
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to implement scalable and secure systems
  • Drive design reviews, lead complex projects, and own critical technical decisions
  • Elevate engineering excellence through mentorship, best practices, and hands-on problem solving

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience technically leading large-scale systems and complex projects
  • Strong technical judgment, with a focus on reliability, security, and scalability
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering and product teams
  • Ability to operate effectively in highly regulated or complex domains
  • Passion for customer value and deep product engagement

Nice to have

  • Experience with Python/Django, Golang, Postgres, Redis, Kafka
  • Familiarity with financial systems or crypto trading infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS cloud architecture
