Job Description:

We’re a team of experts pushing the limits of what’s possible, united by our common goal to unlock true freedom through digital ownership, making technology accessible for all. We believe in a world where users, creators and enterprises manage their value with ownership and freedom. Our curiosity drives us to innovate, empowering individuals on a global scale. We believe change is constant and our team moves forward as one, with a culture of problem-solving where every employee is empowered and supported to challenge tradition and create solutions. Our mission is simple: to make self-custody accessible and give people the keys to their own financial futures. If you want to make a true impact, we want you to join us at Ledger. At Ledger, we’re proud to be the global platform for digital assets and Web3, with over 20% of the world’s crypto assets secured through our Ledger devices. With our headquarters in Paris, and offices in Vierzon, Grenoble, Montpellier, London, Portland, Geneva, Zurich and Central Singapore, we have a team of around 600 professionals developing a variety of products and services to enable individuals and companies to securely buy, store, swap, grow and manage crypto assets – including the Ledger hardware wallets line with more than 7.5 millions units already sold in 200 countries. The team The Blockchain Support Team plays a key role in expanding the Ledger ecosystem. The team integrates new blockchains into Ledger products—bringing secure, reliable support for an ever-growing set of protocols used by millions of Ledger users. The team works closely with the Coin Integration Team, which designs and maintains the coin framework powering all blockchain modules. While the Coin Integration Team owns the core architecture, the Blockchain Support Team applies it in practice: delivering new chain integrations, maintaining existing ones, and ensuring that each module meets Ledger’s security, quality, and reliability standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as the technical lead for blockchain integrations owned by the Blockchain Support Team
  • Own the technical quality, correctness, and maintainability of delivered integrations
  • Design, implement, and maintain blockchain modules from early exploration to production
  • Contribute significantly through coding, reviews, and architectural prototypes
  • Identify architectural risks early and propose pragmatic solutions
  • Set a high bar for code quality, testing, documentation, and security practices
  • Drive the documentation of integration patterns, architectural decisions, and protocol-specific learnings
  • Mentor engineers through technical guidance, pairing, and design discussions
  • Help engineers grow their expertise in blockchain protocols, systems thinking, and Ledger’s architecture
  • Collaborate with product, security, and other engineering teams when needed

Requirements:

  • Strong experience as a senior or staff-level engineer in complex technical environments
  • Proven ability to lead technically without direct people management responsibility
  • Ability to dive into protocol-level details
  • Strong communication skills, especially around technical documentation and design rationale
  • Comfortable working with distributed or international teams

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience integrating blockchain protocols (EVM, Bitcoin, Cosmos, Solana, Polkadot, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SDKs, developer platforms, or modular architectures
  • Strong TypeScript / Node.js background
  • Strong interest in blockchain technology and the evolution of Web3
