Job Description:

As a Staff Engineer in Full Stack Engineering, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, and accessible digital experiences across Telstra's platforms. You will bring deep expertise in front-end and back-end technologies, cloud-native development and modern engineering practices to deliver scalable, secure and high-performing E2E solutions. You'll champion engineering excellence, drive architectural decisions, and ensure alignment with Telstra's digital strategy and accessibility standards.

Job Responsibility:

Design, build and maintain multiple complex software application technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems
Develop innovative software that maintains data/network security management
Authentically engage with and influence a multi-stakeholder landscape to translate customer needs into leading-edge software application products
Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders to gather deep insights about challenges and opportunities
Significantly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of systems and processes
Lead initiatives or components of initiatives in line with the strategic direction
Take ownership of actions and decisions to drive positive outcomes
Provide guidance to more junior engineers

Requirements:

10+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack application development
Deep proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies including Java, JavaScript, HTML/SCSS, and frameworks such as React, Angular, Node.js, and Spring Boot
Strong understanding of RESTful API integration, UX design principles, and component-based architecture
Leadership experience in driving architectural decisions and aligning engineering teams
Demonstrated expertise in leading the integration of AI/ML and Generative AI technologies including Copilot and prompt engineering
Skilled in driving AI-powered automation, personalization, and content intelligence
Proven ability to align engineering decisions with broader company objectives
Track record of implementing significant improvements in code quality, performance, stability, and scalability
Advocate and enforce rigorous testing strategies
Strong knowledge and application of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards
Deep expertise in CI/CD workflows, including pipeline orchestration, DevOps practices, automated testing and observability
Experience implementing security best practices using tools such as Veracode, SonarQube, SAST and SEA
Proficient in active monitoring and observability using platforms such as New Relic, Splunk, PagerDuty, and Adobe Analytics
Experience in full-stack development and microservices architecture
Skilled at identifying technical debt and driving modernization efforts
Demonstrated technical leadership driving cross-team alignment
Strong problem-solving skills in high-availability, high-pressure environments

Nice to have:

Bachelor's degree in Computing Science, Engineering, or Information Management
Strong understanding or experience with UX and/or Visual Design specialties
Experience with CI/CD practices and automation tools
Proven track record of delivering software solutions on time and within budget
