Job Description:

Join a high-impact technical accounting team where you'll apply U.S. GAAP to complex transactions and help interpret new accounting standards for a dynamic energy company.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on complex accounting issues
  • Draft technical accounting memos for transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, derivatives, impairment)
  • Evaluate contracts for lease accounting and embedded derivatives
  • Monitor U.S. standard-setters and implement new guidance
  • Support stand-alone entities including not-for-profit and FERC-regulated groups
  • Assist with SEC filings and related disclosures
  • Provide documentation for internal and external audits
  • Adapt to evolving business needs with flexibility and initiative

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with accounting research and technical memos
  • Familiarity with SEC reporting (preferred)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning
  • Open-mindedness and willingness to consider alternative perspectives
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Public Accounting
  • CPA or parts passed
