The compliance-focused Manufacturing Quality Engineer provides oversight and guidance in manufacturing operations. They coach manufacturing personnel on proper compliance and empower them to identify and escalate quality issues to ensure quality products. Our Manufacturing Quality Engineers play an integral part in ensuring that our processes are as efficient as possible.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) documentation for manufacturing processes
Lead and support internal and external quality audits, leveraging a strong understanding of overall production and warehouse operations to effectively address inquiries and guide tours for customers and auditors
Provide support to manufacturing personnel completing post-audit RCCA activities and perform verification audits based on implemented corrective actions
Serve as the subject matter expert in Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) prevention, providing guidance and expertise across all manufacturing areas for the development and implementation of the ESD control program
Facilitate weekly Quality Review meetings with key stakeholders, presenting comprehensive manufacturing yield data, product metrics, and quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to top manufacturing management and international sites
Conduct thorough root cause analysis of quality issues and drive effective solutions through collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, and Customer Quality Management teams, implementing process updates and system validations
Support the coordination of external calibrations by scheduling calibration of equipment with vendors and managing end-to-end traceability of equipment using asset management system
Proactively review and analyze data trends to identify opportunities for quality-focused continuous improvement projects
Drive improvements in assembly process and product design to reduce workmanship errors
Participate in LEAN and KAIZEN initiatives, applying Six Sigma tools and methodologies to achieve significant process enhancements
Participate in the Internal Auditing Program and lead process audits
Lead cross-functional walkthroughs of manufacturing processes, documenting observations and non-conformities, and driving identified issues through to effective and sustainable resolutions
Attend Gemba Walks to collect direct feedback from managers and drive actions to closure with manufacturing engineering teams
Interpret engineering specifications and requirements documentation to translate new requirements into process updates
Requirements:
Experience in managing the ESD program in an electronics manufacturing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing projects using six sigma tools and techniques
Experience in Quality auditing for ISO 9001 or equivalent standards
Demonstrated experience in analyzing and solving complex problems
Experience in coaching engineers and technicians in problem solving
Rigorous engineering and leadership skills
Experience in effectively working with cross functional teams and executive management to get measurable results
Proficiency with Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Word)
Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and data analysis software (Minitab)
Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workload and deadlines
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or other Engineering discipline, advanced degree preferred
6+ years experience in a high-mix, medium-volume hardware manufacturing environment preferred
