Job Description

As Staff Product Researcher, you’ll be Phorest’s go-to expert for understanding our customers. This is a high-impact IC role for someone who loves to work with full autonomy and wants to see their insights directly shape the future of the business. You won't just be 'doing research' - you’ll be identifying the big market opportunities that will define our growth for years to come. Working across global regions and different parts of the product, you’ll be the bridge between deep customer evidence and our senior leadership team. Your goal is simple: ensure that every big move we make is backed by a real understanding of the people using our software.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as a strategic advisor: Work closely with our senior leadership to challenge assumptions and shape how we frame customer problems
  • Focus on what matters: Make sure our research isn't just 'interesting,' but actually helps us move the needle on things like global growth and customer retention
  • Represent our work: Act as the lead voice for product research at Phorest, sharing our insights internally and connecting with the wider research community at industry discussions and events
  • Take on the 'unknowns': Lead the product research for our most complex projects, like entering new countries or changing how we price our product
  • Build clear paths forward: Create product research plans that work across different global regions, turning messy data into a clear plan of action
  • Support the team: Help senior colleagues work through their own tricky research problems, acting as a sounding board and helping clear any hurdles in their way
  • Set the standard: Define what high-quality product research looks like at Phorest, from how we gather data to how we tell the story of our findings
  • Make insights stick: Build simple systems so that anyone in the company can easily find and use what we’ve learned about our customers
  • Coach and mentor: Spend time helping our mid-level and senior product researchers grow their skills and learn how to make their work more impactful

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in UX, product, or market research, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment
  • Proven track record of influencing senior leadership and moving the needle on company-level strategy
  • Exceptional data visualisation and narrative skills, turning complex behavioral patterns into compelling stories that inspire confident decision-making
  • Ability to lead through influence, resolving blockers for others and guiding senior peers through complex methodological challenges
  • Ability to break down complex customer ecosystems into actionable frameworks that cross-functional teams (Engineering, Design, GTM) can execute on
