Job Description:

As a Staff Product Manager for Materialize Self-Managed, you’ll drive the success of one of our core products. Materialize was built on top of pioneering research in incremental computation. Enterprises use Materialize to transform siloed operational data into live digital twins of their businesses, using just SQL. Materialize Self-Managed launched in early 2025, and has become our fastest growing product in the enterprise. Our customers include digital native tech companies, and Fortune 100 financial firms. You will be responsible for ensuring that the product is set up for repeatable success with landing new customers, getting them into production, and expanding them. Results you’ll drive include improving our win rates, reducing sales cycles, and increasing net revenue retention. To drive these results, you’ll define the strategy and roadmap for how our customers deploy, operate, and optimize Materialize Self-Managed. You’ll work closely with your engineering team to execute on your roadmap and course correct as you get feedback. You’ll help position our offering, enable account executives, and partner with our broader go-to-market team to identify & tackle sales blockers. Finally, you’ll work closely with peer product managers and our executive team on leading company-wide initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Define the strategy of your product area and work collaboratively across engineering, sales & marketing to ensure you deliver on it
  • Become the authoritative expert in your product area — both internally and externally — by conducting market research, learning from our customers, and using the product yourself
  • Proactively manage a portfolio of small and big projects, while balancing short-term goals against long-term vision
  • Drive the understanding of user pain points with the current product, and aim to reduce the sophistication required for our customers to be successful
  • Instrument, monitor, and report on your product area, prioritizing and delivering on improvements where necessary
  • Come to our New York City office, in Astor Place, 3+ days a week

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of B2B product management experience
  • 3+ years on infrastructure products
  • 2+ years of software engineering or SRE experience
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, security & compliance
  • Excellent technical communication skills, with the ability to engage in architecture discussions with customers
  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a computer science degree highly preferred
  • MBA is a plus
