We are looking for a Staff Product Designer to be a key design leader, sharpening how AI shows up in Dialpad, meeting our customers' needs, and driving how the team incorporates AI into their day-to-day work.
Job Responsibility
Lead design on the foundational layers and platform-wide initiatives
Partner with design, product, and engineering leadership to set direction for platform work
Define the patterns, primitives, and interaction models that other designers and teams build with
Ship production code alongside engineering
Build production-realistic coded prototypes with real data
Design AI-first capabilities and infrastructure
Build your own tooling
Strengthen and evolve Dialtone, our design system
Identify cross-cutting problems and opportunities
Mentor designers across the team
Improve how the team ships, communicates, and works together
Requirements
8+ years of shipping high-quality product design work, with a track record of impact on platform-level or foundational design surfaces
Treated AI as a medium you design in, not a feature you add
Built your own AI tooling
Shipped code into production codebases and used coded prototypes as a primary thinking and validation tool
Designed patterns, components, or systems that other designers and engineers consumed at scale
Driven work end-to-end without waiting to be told what's next
Pixel-level craft
Strong communication across audiences
Mentored other designers
Navigate ambiguous, complex projects autonomously
Think in systems
Nice to have
Have shipped AI-native products, agentic workflows, or conversational interfaces
