As a Staff Platform Engineer at Cloudera Taikun, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our Kubernetes distribution. This role focuses on delivering a reliable, secure, and user-friendly platform for deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters at scale. You will work closely with our product and backend teams to integrate the distribution with the Taikun platform, and you’ll be at the heart of our automation efforts.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, maintain, and evolve the Taikun Kubernetes Distribution
  • Automate installation, configuration, and upgrade processes using Terraform, Ansible, bash and Python
  • Implement features and enhancements to improve scalability, reliability, and security
  • Build and maintain Tekton pipelines for CI/CD and automation workflows
  • Integrate the Kubernetes distribution with Taikun’s APIs and backend services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth platform integration
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and deployment processes
  • Stay up to date with Kubernetes ecosystem developments and recommend improvements

Requirements:

  • 5+ years proven experience with Kubernetes administration or development
  • Strong knowledge of Ansible, terraform and automation best practices
  • Proficiency in Bash and Python for automation, tooling, or backend scripting
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and container runtimes
  • Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Bsc/Msc in related field or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Helm, Operators, or Kubernetes API development
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Crossplane)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack)
  • Contributions to open-source Kubernetes projects
