Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. Reporting to the Lead Physiotherapist, the staff Physiotherapist assesses, treats, educates and evaluates a care plan for individual patients. The physiotherapist also educates other health disciplines and the public in the various aspects of physiotherapy patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy
  • Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA)
  • The ability to communicate effectively, and in a positive courteous manner
  • Show sound professional judgement and initiative as an active member of the health care team
  • Show a willingness to learn and apply new concepts in the academic and clinical fields of health care knowledge
  • The ability to work harmoniously with patients and staff
