Job Description:

As a Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health, you will play a critical role in enhancing patient health and ensuring the pharmacy operates efficiently and compliantly. This includes dispensing medications, coaching the pharmacy team, managing inventory, providing immunizations, and supporting patient access to care. You’ll also help manage daily pharmacy operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and promote a safe and inclusive workplace.

Job Responsibility:

Helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Taking direction from the Pharmacy Manager and overseeing the pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap
Strengthening pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching and follow-up of pharmacy team members
Assuming Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety protocols
Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, delivering compassionate care, and resolving insurance issues
Offering and delivering immunizations proactively
Supporting inventory management, focusing on protecting cold chain products
Ensuring compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations
Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills to support patients
Supporting access to care through pharmacist-delivered clinical services, such as testing and prescribing
Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, CVS Health policies, and ethical principles.

Requirements:

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Utilize active listening by giving full attention to others, understanding points made, and asking questions appropriately
Ability to use math to solve problems, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense
Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action
Be mobile and upright for extended periods
Lift, scan, and bag items
Reach overhead and extend hands and arms
Move fingers repetitively
Stoop to move items between low and high positions
Visual acuity for transcription and inspection tasks
Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
Express or exchange ideas, including detailed oral communication
Ability to receive oral information in detail.

Nice to have:

1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require.
