Job Description:

Staff Pharmacist position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers and making the company a great place to work. The role involves helping people navigate the health care system by improving access, lowering costs, and being a trusted partner for health moments. The pharmacist acts as a role model, demonstrates genuine care, and sets the bar for the pharmacy team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Oversee pharmacy during bench shifts without Pharmacy Manager overlap
  • Strengthen pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching and consistent follow-up
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations
  • Support effective management of pharmacy inventory
  • Ensure pharmacy operations are compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Support writing pharmacy schedule if directed
  • Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills
  • Support pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • Utilize active listening skills
  • Ability to use math to solve pharmacy problems
  • Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods, lift items, reach overhead, move fingers repetitively, extend hands and arms, control precision, stoop, and have close visual acuity
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently

Nice to have:

  • 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require
