Job Description:

The Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health is responsible for leading the pharmacy team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and directly impacting patient experiences through dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Key responsibilities include managing the pharmacy when the manager is unavailable, supporting pharmacy performance measures, and delivering clinical care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Overseeing the pharmacy as the proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts
  • Strengthening pharmacy performance measures
  • Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Improving patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
  • Proactively resolving insurance and medication issues
  • Offering and delivering immunizations
  • Following best practices for pharmacy inventory management
  • Ensuring compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Writing pharmacy schedules if needed
  • Maintaining clinical and technical skills
  • Improving patient outcomes through clinical care
  • Complying with federal and state laws and CVS Health policies
  • Supporting a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.

Requirements:

  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Actively look for ways to help people
  • Notice and understand patients’ reactions
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication
  • Utilize active listening
  • Ability to use math to solve problems
  • Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions
  • Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
  • Lift, scan, and bag items
  • Reach overhead
  • Close visual acuity
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.

Nice to have:

  • 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require
