Job Description:

The Staff Pharmacist role at CVS Health involves supporting the Pharmacy Manager and pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance, providing patient care, managing pharmacy inventory, and contributing to positive patient experiences. This position requires active engagement, empathy, and a commitment to safe and effective pharmacy practices.

Job Responsibility:

Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Taking direction from the Pharmacy Manager and overseeing the pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap
Ensuring pharmacy workflow procedures are followed for safe prescription fulfillment
Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
Offering and delivering immunizations to keep patients healthy
Supporting effective management of pharmacy inventory
Ensuring compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
Supporting access to care through pharmacist clinical services like testing and prescribing services
Complying with federal and state laws, CVS Health policies, and procedures
Supporting the Pharmacy Manager with scheduling and other business needs
Expanding knowledge through continuous training and professional education

Requirements:

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Utilize active listening skills
Ability to use math to solve pharmacy-related problems
Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
Lift, scan, and bag items
Extend hand(s) and arm(s) multiple directions to move or lift items
Close visual acuity for activities such as reading or inspection
Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
Frequently lift up to 10 lbs.

Nice to have:

1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require
