Job Description:

At CVS Health, the Staff Pharmacist is responsible for supporting the Pharmacy Manager in leading and managing the pharmacy. Responsibilities include safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, oversight of the pharmacy team, providing coaching, delivering immunizations, maintaining compliance with regulations, and contributing to positive patient experiences.

Job Responsibility:

Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Taking direction from the Pharmacy Manager and overseeing the pharmacy as their proxy
Strengthening pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching
Providing feedback about team performance to the Pharmacy Manager
Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care
Proactively resolving insurance or medication issues
Offering and delivering immunizations
Supporting effective management of pharmacy inventory
Ensuring compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations
Writing the pharmacy schedule if directed
Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills
Supporting access to care through pharmacist-delivered clinical care
Complying with laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies.

Requirements:

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Utilize active listening
Ability to use math to solve a problem
Identifying and resolving challenging interactions
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
Lift, scan, and bag items
Reach overhead and stretch or reach out with body, arms, or legs
Move fingers repetitively
Extend hand(s) and arm(s) multiple directions to place, move, or lift items
Stoop to a considerable degree
Close visual acuity for transcribing and computer terminal use
Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
Frequently lift up to 10 lbs.
Consistently lift negligible amounts of force
Express ideas clearly by spoken word
Receive detailed oral information accurately.

Nice to have:

1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require.
