Job Description:

Staff Pharmacist role at CVS Health focused on improving patient health with safe, compliant pharmacy practices, maintaining a culture of care, and supporting the Pharmacy Manager in operational duties.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Oversee pharmacy as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager
Strengthen pharmacy performance measures through coaching and follow-up
Provide feedback about pharmacy team performance
Assumes Pharmacy Manager’s duties when the only or primary pharmacist on duty
Support prescription fulfillment by directing pharmacy workflow
Utilize safety guardrails at every workstation
Contribute to positive patient experiences
Demonstrate compassionate care
Collaborate with the patient’s healthcare team
Resolve insurance or medication issues
Offer and deliver immunizations
Manage pharmacy inventory effectively
Protect cold chain products
Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
Remain flexible to scheduling and business needs
Write the pharmacy schedule if directed
Maintain clinical and technical skills
Expand knowledge to better support patients
Deliver clinical care such as testing and prescribing services
Empower the pharmacy team to provide holistic care
Comply with federal and state laws and regulations
Follow CVS Health policies
Protect patient safety
Handle controlled substance dispensing and recordkeeping
Maintain a safe and inclusive workplace

Requirements:

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Utilize active listening skills by giving full attention
Ability to use math to solve a problem
Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action

Nice to have:

1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require
