The Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PMEL) plays a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team, while developing their own leadership skills in preparation for increasing responsibility.

Job Responsibility

  • Complete a self-paced, collaborative training roadmap with both virtual and hands-on learning experiences to prepare to lead a pharmacy independently
  • Deliver purpose, model values, and demonstrate genuine, authentic care for patients, acting as a role model, mentor, and guide for the pharmacy team
  • Support the home store PM by exhibiting best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Take on greater accountability for supporting the management, oversight, and operation of all aspects within the pharmacy as tenure and readiness increase
  • Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy as their proxy during bench shifts without overlap
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care

  • 6+ months of experience as a Staff or District Support Pharmacist
  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
