Staff nurse

• Perform holistic assessments of patients on admission and throughout their stay
• Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate individualised care plans
• Identify and act upon changes in a patients clinical condition, escalating concerns promptly
• Provide direct nursing care, including post-operative monitoring, wound care, pain management, IV therapy, and catheter care
• Administer medications safely in line with trust policies and the NMC Code
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all care delivered
• Monitor vital signs, fluid balance, and early signs of deterioration
• Assist with the management of surgical drains, dressings, and enhanced recovery protocols
• Support patients with mobility, nutrition, and rehabilitation following surgery
• Adhere to infection prevention and control standards
• Safely use clinical equipment and report any faults promptly
• Participate in risk assessments, incident reporting, and safeguarding processes
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team
• Provide handovers in accordance with SBAR or local protocols
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, physiotherapists, and other professionals to coordinate safe patient care
