An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Nurse to join us in the Cath Lab Team. We are a busy department with 2 Cath Labs and an 8 bedded recovery area managing both elective and acute inpatient procedures. These include Angiogram, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Permanent Pacemaker Insertion, and Cardiac Re-synchronisation Device insertion. We have also recently started a mechanical thrombectomy service.
Job Responsibility:
Delivery of high quality care to a defined patient group either within the acute hospital or community based setting
Responsible for the assessment, development, delivery and evaluation of evidence based individualised patient care within the boundaries of their role
Contribute to the continuing development of standards of care including developments of nursing standards and monitoring of outcomes
Expected to continue with their own professional development
Involved in meeting the physical, spiritual and psycho-social needs of the patients within the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory and Recovery Area
May also be required to co-ordinate the running of the labs on a daily basis
Requirements:
First Level Registered Nurse
Current/live registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council
Immediate Life Support
Excellent written and verbal communication
Willingness to undertake training and assessment for further clinical skills
Significant post registration experience within an acute cardiac setting
Nice to have:
Diploma/Degree qualification
Teaching/Assessor Qualification e.g. ENB 998 or equivalent
Qualification /Experience in teaching and assessing
