As a Staff Engineer at Aspora, you’ll be a central technical force shaping the backend architecture that powers our global banking platform. This is a deeply hands-on role where you’ll design, build, and scale systems that serve millions of users across markets. You’ll work on large, ambiguous problems, break them down into clear technical direction, and partner closely with product, design, and operations to bring high-impact features to life. As one of the senior-most Individual Contributors in the team, you’ll raise the technical bar, mentor engineers, and influence engineering culture and decision-making across pods. Job Responsibility:
Drive system architecture and high-level design for scalable, reliable backend platforms
Stay hands-on with coding, debugging, testing, and deployment to deliver high-quality backend services
Build and evolve systems end-to-end
Make informed technical decisions by evaluating architectural trade-offs and long-term impact
Own performance, reliability, and operational excellence across backend components
Convert product requirements into robust technical solutions through close cross-functional collaboration
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance
Define and champion engineering standards and best practices across the backend stack
Bring deep expertise in system design, distributed systems, databases, queues, caching, and cloud infrastructure
Shape technical direction and drive key engineering initiatives that strengthen the overall platform
Requirements:
7–12 years of strong backend engineering experience
motivated to build products from the ground up and help define technical processes
understand the pace and mindset of a startup
deep technical expertise, paired with a willingness to learn and adapt
strong engineering fundamentals
