Job Description

Palo Alto Networks NGFW (Next Generation Firewall) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished test / Automation engineer with experience in validating core networking & security features in the test engineering team. You will be part of a world-class software test engineering team that works on various ground-breaking security (On-Prem and Cloud) technologies / use cases. You will work with a multi- functional team of engineers solving interesting problems in the area of L2-7 / Cloud security.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for testing of Palo Alto Networks’ next-generation firewall and features
  • Develop, execute and automate test plans and test cases
  • Develop tools and infrastructure to improve the quality and efficiency of testing
  • Work closely with the Software Engineering, Product Management teams during product development from design to release
  • Reproduce and debug issues found during and after software release
  • Develop and maintain complex testbed environments

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience with a BS OR MS degree in Network and Security domain with Test Engineering experience in platforms, infrastructure and systems area
  • Prior experience in Test Engineering position
  • L2-L3 network testing experience with knowledge of most common switching and routing protocols
  • Experience in networking equipment (routers and switches) and usage of test tools (ixia/spirent etc.)
  • Proficient in Python (or other similar) scripting and/or automation

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of L4-L7 layers
  • Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira and versioning systems like git
  • Experience in virtualization and setting up ESXi or KVM based virtual machines
  • Experience testing network security products, preferably with firewalls and intrusion prevention
  • Knowledge of encryption and tunneling protocol test methods
  • Experience with open source test and Network traffic generating tools and good to have experience with typical test tools from Spirent, Breaking Point, and Ixia
  • Experience setting testbeds in a Virtualization environment is desirable
  • Exposure to Cloud Technologies (AWS,GCP,Azure or any other cloud)
