Job Description

The newly established and growing Engineering Experience team works hands-on with our software and hardware teams to identify real delivery friction, test practical improvements in live contexts, and scale what actually works across the organization. This is not an advisory, governance, or platform role; you are expected to work hands-on with our engineering teams in real delivery contexts to identify friction and implement improvements.

Job Responsibility

  • Make engineering at ICEYE feel better, flow better, and scale better
  • Work hands-on with software and hardware teams to identify real delivery friction, test practical improvements in live contexts, and scale what actually works across the organization
  • Operate at the intersection of hands-on engineering, systems thinking, and influence
  • Partner directly with engineering domains and teams, design and implement solutions, use AI deliberately where it provides leverage, and lead cross-domain initiatives that improve engineering performance, growth, and culture through evidence and practice

Requirements

  • Staff–level (or equivalent) experience as a software engineer, with extensive hands-on delivery across different contexts (e.g. scale-ups, mature systems, legacy environments, cross-team setups)
  • Proven ability to use AI tools pragmatically to accelerate engineering work and learning - beyond experimentation or demos
  • Experience leading cross-team initiatives without formal authority, operating well in ambiguity
  • Communicate and influence clearly and credibly through written proposals, RFCs, documentation, and presentations
  • Identify systemic bottlenecks and failure modes in engineering workflows by designing and operationalizing performance and AI-impact metrics (e.g. flow, quality, sustainability, developer experience)
  • Ability to make clear buy vs. build decisions, leveraging strong in-house engineering capabilities while evaluating third-party tools for fit, scalability, and long-term viability
  • Intellectual Firepower: Rapidly comprehends, structures and synthesizes complex information, draws accurate conclusions, and communicates them with clarity
  • Passion & Work Ethic: Brings sustained motivation, resilience, and high personal standards to every challenge
  • Ownership & Action: Assumes full accountability for outcomes, acting decisively, and ensuring commitments are delivered
  • Team Player: Works collaboratively across teams, contributing to shared success, and engaging in constructive debate
  • Integrity & Growth Mindset: Operates with transparency and humility, learns from setbacks, and actively seeks opportunities to grow

What we offer

  • Occupational healthcare, occupational, and accident insurance
  • A yearly benefit budget to spend as you wish (i.e. on sport, transport, bike benefit, wellness, lunch, etc.)
  • Phone subscription with iPhone of choice
  • Relocation support (i.e. flight tickets, accommodation, relocation agency support)
  • Time for self-development, research, training, conferences, or certification schemes
  • Inspiring and collaborating offices and silent workspaces enable you to focus
