Job Description:

Adyen’s Financial Products team is building innovative financial offerings to expand beyond traditional payments and meet customers' needs. We are seeking a Staff Engineer to join us in building the foundational system that underpins Adyen’s credit and lending capabilities. This includes our Capital offering, which provides a frictionless experience for granting capital to merchants and sub merchants with automatic repayment over time. As Staff Engineer, your primary focus will be on leading cross-team projects to help build the infrastructure that will power all of Adyen’s lending and credit financial products. The role encompasses the entire lending products lifecycle, from initial underwriting, credit scoring and decisioning to loan servicing, arrears management, and portfolio performance optimisation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Launch and scale embedded lending products for our enterprise customers, in collaboration with product and commercial counterparts
  • Provide architectural and design leadership to build a strong foundation for our Financial Products offering
  • Design, build, and optimize Adyen’s credit and loan origination platform to ensure a robust and frictionless credit risk assessment process
  • Mentor engineers to uphold high standards of and technical excellence
  • Drive a culture of continuous innovation by challenging the status quo and introducing transformative ideas

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience developing lending or credit products
  • 7+ years of hands-on development experience in a modern engineering environment
  • Technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and leading an engineering strategy
  • Building a credit engine or core components of a lending platform, including underwriting, credit scoring, credit decisioning, and servicing
  • Proactive relationship-builder with strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders across cultures
  • Self-starter who can identify problems and figure out solutions
