LearnUpon is seeking an exceptional Staff Engineer, DevOps to join our Engineering team in Dublin. This is a flex role, working 1 day per week from LearnUpon's Dublin office. LearnUpon LMS helps organizations train their employees, partners, and customers. Businesses can manage, track, and achieve their unique learning goals — all through a single, powerful solution. As a Staff Engineer, DevOps, you'll be a key technical leader and role model within LearnUpon. You'll shape the DevOps architecture of our best-in-class LMS, influence our technical strategy, and elevate the skills of our entire engineering organization. Your impact will extend beyond our product, contributing to our mission of building robust, lovable learning products that help customers achieve results.

Job Responsibility:

  • Drive DevOps best practices around CI/CD, automation, scalability and reliability across LearnUpon's infrastructure and pipelines
  • Drive technical innovation and strategic initiatives across multiple teams and services
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to uplevel the entire engineering organization
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering teams and cross-functional partners to shape our long-term technical roadmap and strategy
  • Identify and solve complex technical challenges that significantly impact LearnUpon's growth and success
  • Champion engineering best practices, including code quality, system design, and operational excellence
  • Mentor and coach engineers across the organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
  • Resolve conflicts and drive alignment between teams, building a cohesive engineering culture

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of exceptional DevOps/SRE experience, with a proven track record of technical leadership in large-scale, distributed systems
  • Deep focus on containerized environments, with experience supporting local development, CI/CD workflows, and deployment across the cloud
  • Proven expertise in cloud infrastructure, especially AWS, with a deep understanding of scalability, reliability, and security in production environments
  • Strong experience working with Kubernetes and Helm charts, as a foundation for modern infrastructure and platform orchestration
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), with a focus on building modular, reusable infrastructure patterns
  • Expertise in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred), and developing automation tooling (Bash, Python, Go)
  • Demonstrated success in leading technical initiatives that span multiple teams and services
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Track record of mentoring and elevating the skills of other engineers, including senior-level talent

Nice to have:

  • Experience leading engineering initiatives across multiple locations
  • Contributions to open-source projects or thought leadership in the software engineering community
  • Experience with cost management for cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity with GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD and FluxCD
