Job Description

The Staff Engineer will be part of the Commercial Technologies – Pharmacy Systems team, responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting complex application ecosystems. The role supports interconnected workstreams across GuardianRX, customized Salesforce implementations, Azure Logic Apps, APIs, and multiple hybrid systems enabling end-to-end pharmacy operations such as prescription processing, clinical workflows, eRx services, drug fulfilment, claims, payments, labelling, printing, shipping, and operational support. This role combines engineering, integration, architecture alignment, problem resolution, and collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure scalable, reliable, and customer focused solutions.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, develop, implement, and support enterprise applications/platforms required to meet business objectives
  • Plan and execute system implementations with minimal production disruption
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, including outages and integration failures
  • Conduct performance analysis using monitoring tools, capacity metrics, and root cause analysis to ensure continuous improvement in stability and system health
  • Provide technical leadership to managed service partners and cross functional teams
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture planning to ensure adherence to best practices
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, technical solutions
  • Design and customize systems/platforms to improve user and customer experience
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align objectives, improve technology enablement, and identify innovation opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise policies, standards, and security controls
  • Oversee relationships with strategic technology vendors
  • Recommend new tools, processes, metrics, and best practices
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical and functional issues
  • Provide end-to-end architectural views across multiple integrated systems
  • Connect cross functional technical and business components to deliver seamless integrated workflows

Requirements

  • Azure Logic Apps & Azure pipelines
  • TSQL / SQL Server
  • Experience with API management tools such as SwaggerHub, APIGEE
  • Experience with Postman for API testing
  • Experience with 2–3 of the following systems preferred: GuardianRX, CPerx, Queen City, CMS Wordlink, Omnisys, Genesis
  • Understanding of SDLC, requirement analysis, design, and deployment processes
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Concourse, Jenkins)
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring & logging tools like Splunk
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure platforms (OS, databases, application servers, cloud)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field (preferred)
  • Equivalent work experience acceptable
