We are hiring a Staff Core Data to own how Mentimeter's products define, emit, and evolve data. This is a senior, hands-on systems role focused on product data semantics, canonical events, and architectural intent. The role is cross-cutting by design. While reporting into Engineering, the mandate spans Product, Data Platform, Analytics, AI, and GTM. This role exists to turn Mentimeter's product activity into a strategic asset by establishing Core Data as the connective tissue between products, insights, and decisions. This role does not run analytics or platforms. It defines meaning, standards, and direction.
Job Responsibility:
Establish and evolve Core Data as a first class domain at Mentimeter, defining how product signals are captured, trusted, and turned into insights and decisions across the company
Act as the founder and steward of Canonical Domain Events, ensuring they become the shared language between products, analytics, and decision making
Define data contracts at emission, ensuring signals are consistent, trustworthy, and reusable
Shape architecture intent for how product signals flow into analytics, AI, recommendations, and GTM systems further downstream
Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure features are designed with learning and signal quality in mind
Enable governance through design. Clear models, strong defaults, and explicit tradeoffs rather than process or policing
Act as a Staff-level reference point for Core Data design across the company
Requirements:
8+ years of experience designing and owning data-heavy systems in product-led companies
Strong systems thinking and comfort reasoning about boundaries, contracts, and long-term evolution
Hands-on technical credibility. You can read, write, and reason about production code and data models
Experience working close to product teams, shaping instrumentation and learning loops at the source
Ability to translate complex systems into clear models others can follow
Comfort operating in ambiguity and driving clarity through action
Nice to have:
Swedish is not required
