We are looking for an experienced Staff AWS Engineer to support and enhance a large-scale cloud environment. This contract-to-hire position is suited for a senior, detail-oriented individual who can strengthen platform reliability, security, and performance while driving infrastructure automation across AWS services. The role will play a key part in designing resilient cloud solutions, improving operational efficiency, and supporting disaster recovery readiness across multiple availability zones.
Job Responsibility
Oversee and improve AWS infrastructure to maintain strong system availability, security controls, and overall platform performance
Design, manage, and optimize core network and edge components, including VPCs, DNS services, firewalls, load balancers, and content delivery capabilities
Build, enhance, and maintain infrastructure as code solutions using Terraform to standardize cloud provisioning and operational workflows
Develop automation that simplifies cloud administration, reduces manual effort, and supports consistent deployments across environments
Create and implement disaster recovery and resiliency strategies
Partner with technical teams to evaluate cloud architecture, identify improvement opportunities, and support scalable engineering practices
Manage key AWS services such as EC2, DynamoDB, and CloudFront to align infrastructure capabilities with business and application needs
Use GitHub-based workflows to support version control, collaboration, and ongoing improvements to infrastructure code and automation assets
Requirements
7+ years of cloud engineering experience, including significant hands-on work with AWS environments
10+ years of overall infrastructure or platform engineering experience in enterprise-scale settings
Required AWS certification demonstrating validated expertise with Amazon Web Services
Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code and cloud automation
Practical experience with GitHub for source control and collaborative development workflows
Solid knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, DynamoDB, CloudFront, networking, and load balancing
Proven ability to design secure, highly available, and resilient cloud solutions
Strong understanding of disaster recovery planning, multi-AZ architecture, and operational best practices in AWS
