Job Description

Nick Corieri with Robert Half is looking to hire multiple Staff and Sr. Staff Accountants to join a public accounting team in the greater Syracuse, NY region. This role offers hands-on involvement across tax and accounting functions, making it an excellent fit for someone who wants to gain or broaden their public accounting experience. No matter what level of experience you are, these positions will provide meaningful mentorship, exposure to a variety of client needs, and a clear path for career development.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and review individual and corporate tax filings with accuracy and attention to applicable deadlines
  • Support tax preparation activities by gathering financial information, organizing documentation, and ensuring complete client records
  • Maintain client bookkeeping records and reconcile accounts to help produce reliable financial data
  • Apply GAAP principles when assisting with financial reporting and day-to-day accounting work
  • Use CCH ProSystem and CCH ProSystem fx to complete tax and accounting assignments efficiently
  • Collaborate with team members on client engagements spanning multiple areas of public accounting
  • Communicate with clients and internal staff to clarify financial details, resolve discrepancies, and keep work moving forward

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in public accounting or a closely related accounting environment
  • Working knowledge of preparing individual tax returns and corporate tax returns
  • Experience with tax preparation processes and supporting documentation requirements
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping tasks, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Understanding of GAAP accounting principles and their practical application
  • Proficiency with CCH ProSystem or other accounting software
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively
