We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accounting Analyst to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, analyzing data, and ensuring accurate reporting to support strategic decisions. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical accounting skills and a proactive approach to improving processes while adhering to regulatory standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, addressing discrepancies as needed
  • Generate and analyze financial statements to identify trends and variances
  • Evaluate revenues and expenses to provide insights into business performance
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with forecasted figures
  • Provide timely and relevant financial reports to support management decision-making
  • Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger systems
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
