Job Description

We are seeking Staff Accountants for immediate projects with growing companies in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area. These roles are ideal for an accounting professional with a strong foundation in accounting principles, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a hands-on, busy environment. Immediate availability and onsite presence required.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform general accounting duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports, reporting packages, and related analysis
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting data and financial information
  • Apply knowledge of GAAP, accounting theory, debits/credits, and month-end close procedures to daily work
  • Support payroll processing while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Review transactions for proper coding and posting accuracy
  • Assist with accounting software processes and support system and workflow improvements
  • Research and resolve accounting issues independently
  • Help maintain organized accounting records and documentation
  • Provide support for basic office management tasks such as ordering and managing office supplies
  • Contribute as a flexible, hands-on member of a team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Prior experience as a Staff Accountant
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory, GAAP, debits/credits, and financial reporting
  • Experience with payroll processing and handling confidential information with discretion
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
  • Previous experience with accounting/ERP systems, i.e. NetSuite, SAP, Sage Intacct, Epicor, Oracle, etc
  • Resourceful problem-solver with the ability to research and resolve issues independently
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a growing business environment
  • Candidates must undergo drug and background screening for consideration

Nice to have

Experience in a product-based, industrial, or similar operational environment is a plus
