Staff Accountant

• Manage high-volume accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and limited credit terms
• Prepare and post journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and assist with month-end closing tasks, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation
• Oversee sales tax compliance and reconciliations using Avalara software
• Process payroll for approximately 25 employees using iSolved, including 401(k) administration and support for HR onboarding
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, reports, and schedules through meticulous documentation and review
• Maintain and manage inventory accounting, including applying landed costs such as freight and duties
• Conduct audits of accounting and financial records to ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations
• Assist with audit preparation, documentation, and responding to related requests
• Provide support during peak seasonal periods (late May through early August) for the manufacturing business
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to resolve billing issues and explain financial reports

• 1-3+ years of corporate accounting experience
• Preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Accounting, or Finance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong personal integrity with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Exceptional attention to detail and a natural aptitude for working with numbers
• Experience in creating organized systems for cataloging and documenting financial processes
• Familiarity with financial software tools, including Odoo, Avalara Sales Tax, and iSolved HR/Payroll
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles
• Start-up or private equity experience considered a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment
