The Staff Accountant supports daily accounting operations, performs month-end close activities, and ensures accuracy and compliance in financial reporting. This role is ideal for candidates with solid foundational accounting experience who are ready to take on more complex tasks and operate with increasing independence.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts
Maintain and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
Prepare supporting schedules for internal and external audits
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
Analyze variances and provide explanations to management
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Participate in process-improvement initiatives to streamline accounting operations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–4+ years of professional accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)
Experience with accounting ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to have:
Experience supporting audits
Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-location accounting
Exposure to process improvement or automation projects
CPA or CPA-track is a plus
