Job Description:

Robert Half has partnered with a prestigious, nonprofit company in their search for a Staff Accountant with strong accounts receivable skills. The responsibilities for this Staff Accountant role consist of handling general accounting operations such as assisting with accounts payable/receivable activities, reviewing general ledger accounts, preparing financial reports, assisting with financial research, maintaining internal controls, overseeing the inventory catalog, providing customer service as needed and collaborating with financial and executive leadership. The ideal candidate for this role should have possessed great day-to-day accounting abilities in compliance with legal industry standards and firm policies. We are looking for someone with strong problem-solving skills and can maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the overall financial health of the firm.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and account analysis
Assist with daily accounting functions
Reconcile and monitor collection accounts
Ensure compliance with applicable standards (GAAP)
Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts
Monitor the record keeping system
Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation needed
Handling general accounting operations such as assisting with accounts payable/receivable activities
Reviewing general ledger accounts
Preparing financial reports
Assisting with financial research
Maintaining internal controls
Overseeing the inventory catalog
Providing customer service as needed
Collaborating with financial and executive leadership

Requirements:

3+ years of accounting/finance experience
Non-profit experience preferred
QuickBooks required
Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
Solid understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles
Excellent communication skills
Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
