Job Description:

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization by overseeing essential accounting functions and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. As this is a Contract to permanent position, it provides a pathway to long-term career growth within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Analyze financial data, including sales performance and cash flow trends, to support organizational decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal accounting policies
  • Coordinate with external auditors to provide required documentation and information
  • Mentor entry level accounting staff, fostering detail oriented development and adherence to best practices
  • Oversee accounts payable functions, including expense recording and vendor payments
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records
  • Manage consignment inventory reporting and prepare accurate sales tax returns
  • Support cost accounting activities such as inventory adjustments and issue resolution

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in accounting and financial statement preparation
  • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP functions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external auditors
  • Ability to mentor and guide entry-level staff while promoting a positive work environment
