We are looking for a highly organized Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in St. Petersburg, Florida. This Contract to permanent position offers a blend of in-office work Monday through Thursday and remote flexibility on Fridays. Job Responsibility:

Perform daily banking and accounting tasks, including claims processing, billing, and posting deposits
Reconcile bank accounts to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Monitor lockbox activity and maintain oversight of organizational transactions
Handle high volumes of transactional work while adhering to established procedures
Utilize Excel extensively for data analysis, reporting, and managing financial information
Research and resolve revenue exceptions and discrepancies efficiently
Collaborate with team members to improve workflows and enhance operational efficiency
Communicate effectively with internal teams, providing updates and clarifications when necessary
Follow standard operating procedures to ensure compliance and consistency in accounting practices
Support tax-related activities, including corporate tax returns and sales tax calculations

Requirements:

Proficiency in Excel with experience handling large datasets and performing advanced functions
Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and corporate tax processes
Attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive tasks with accuracy
Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
Ability to research and resolve discrepancies independently
Familiarity with claims processing and billing procedures
Previous accounting experience preferred, though recent graduates with relevant skills are welcome
High level of trainability and willingness to adapt to structured processes
